Paul Brar graduated with honors from the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science in 1996. In 2003, Mr. Brar graduated from The University of Michigan Law School, where he was a quarterfinalist in the school’s prestigious Campbell Moot Court competition. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006, Mr. Brar joined the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in 2007 where he worked as a Deputy District Attorney for six years. During this time, Mr. Brar handled upward of 10,000 DUI cases at various stages of prosecution. This included filing charges; arraignments; case negotiations; preliminary hearings; motions and jury trials. Mr. Brar has completed 50 jury trials, with charges including violent felonies, drug sales and white collar crime. More than 30 of his jury trials were DUI cases, which also included allegations of prescription medication and street drug impairment. Mr. Brar has completed over 50 felony preliminary hearings, in cases ranging from felony DUI with great bodily injury enhancements to attempted murder. As a Deputy District Attorney, Mr. Brar completed a 16 month assignment at Orange County’s Juvenile Justice Center, where he regularly handled juvenile DUI cases and court trials. In 2012, Mr. Brar was nominated by his supervisor at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for special recognition of his success in DUI trials. Mr. Brar is “Of Counsel” at the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman, where his work focuses on DUI defense case preparation and trials.
