First posted case of 2013! Our client was driving at night without headlights and failed to proceed after stopping for 5 seconds while stopped. Officer then activated emergency lights and siren but client failed to pull over and pulled into a parking lot. Upon contact, officer observed slurred speech, bloodshot/watery eyes and strong odor of alcohol. In Los Angeles County there were approximately 1,700 DUI / Drunk Driving arrests between December 13th and 28th. In Orange County, there were 597 DUI / Drunk Driving arrests from December 13th and 26th. Law enforcement will be looking to make more arrests from New Year’s Eve through Sunday, January, 5th, 2014 utilizing DUI enforcement patrols and checkpoints.
