To: Scott Karpf
I want to thank you for all your efforts on my DUI case. You were available, extremely helpful & guided me through the process with clear explanations of what I needed to do.
I'm sure you can appreciate that I don't want to be a repeat client! Will be sure to recommend your firm to anyone who makes the mistake to drink & drive. Thanks to you and the good people at Miles Berman.
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication. I appreciate all of your time, work and effort. Thank you for your expertise! You were able to really come through for me, putting my family and I back to peace. We are all able to positively push past this situation, which has brought us closer together as a family. Though it was a great comfort having you on my side, I hope to never require your services again, but will forever be grateful and appreciative of you. Also, a big THANK YOU to the whole staff of Law Offices of Myles L. Berman.
I am grateful to Bill Duffy for his successful expungement of my DUI record. He and Shelby were a pleasure to work with and very responsive to any questions I had. I would highly recommend your firm. Please call on me if I can help you in that regard.
Thank you and your firm again.
(Note: This was an expungement for a 1981 conviction! Client needed it expunged for travel purposes. It was very challenging since the court file was already destroyed. We were thrilled to get it done!!!)"
I wanted to thank you for assigning William Duffy to (my daughter’s) case, and to thank William for a job well done.
William did a fantastic job. On a personal level he was very personable and supportive, he demonstrated true care and empathy which put my daughter and the rest of our family at ease, knowing that we had a true caring fighter on our side. Professionally he was pro-active, knowledgeable, and creative, and at every moment he was focused on our objective of having (my daughter’s) case dismissed. It took several months, and eventually the case was dismissed.
I think you have a great fighter on your team and again; thank you and William for job well done.
In the future, I will definitely be more than happy to use or recommend your office’s services.
By way of introduction my name is (M.S.P.), a former client of your firm. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your firm, specifically, Ms.Ozobu and Mr. Brar for putting much effort forward to get my successful driver license suspension set aside and a favorable outcome with the two counts of DUI. I came to your firm for the absolutely best council in Southern California and I have no doubt that I received that with your team. With both counts of DUI being dismissed, my driver license never becoming suspended and the option for expungement due to the terminal disposition, I couldn't be more impressed. In short, Ms.Ozobu and Mr. Brar performance was exemplary. Although I love your team, I hope we never cross paths again!
The Law Offices of Myles L. Berman (Irvine office) provided me with excellent representation. The attorneys and staff members kept me informed every step of the way with phone calls and letters which thoroughly explained the legal process. My case was a bit complex to say the least. Both attorneys, Paul Brar and William Duffy, were involved and devised a strategy in an attempt to prove my innocence at the jury trial.
Attorney Paul Brar tried my case and went above and beyond my expectations as he gathered and reviewed an abundance of my documentation to prepare for the trial. Mr. Brar displayed extreme professionalism, knowledge, empathy, and his articulation skills are matched by no other, in my opinion.
I could not have asked for a better firm to handle my case. Their fees were fair and accommodated my needs at that time. The office staff were always kind and courteous every time I called or visited the office. This was a difficult time in my life and I am sure glad that I hired the Law Offices of Top Gun Dui, Myles Berman and his team.
I highly recommend this firm and plan to refer others who find themselves facing DUI/DUID charges to this team of experts. Thank you for all of your hard work on my case.
Hi Mr. Berman,
I just wanted to reach out to you directly to explain how well of a job your staff has done with my case. Mr. Brar did an amazing job in court. He was very professional and helped me through the court process with enormous ease. I can't begin to explain how thankful I am for his assistance and representation.
Mr. Duffy's help made a huge difference as well, considering it was a lot of his advice which helped me to make my decision to fight the case. So I wanted to let you know he was a large part of making this outcome occur as well.
Ms. Ozobu was also a large help with advising me to fight the case.
Thank you again for your staff and what you all have done for me.
Next is reopening DMV and I know your staff will do their best with this matter.
Dear Mr. Berman,
I wanted to send you this correspondence reflecting my great appreciation for your firm’s handling of my son’s case. We could not have imagined a better outcome. Your staff was professional, courteous and exceptional.
I wanted to thank Mr. Duffy who was instrumental in helping us decide the direction of the case (fight or plea). In addition I wanted to thank Mr. Brar who was not only brilliant in the courtroom but also excellent with (my son) making him feel confident, informed and most of all well represented. These people are a testament to you and your organization.
Please share my gratitude with your outstanding attorneys. I will certainly be recommending your firm to anyone in need of your specialty.
Dear Derek and Obie,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your help and guidance on my husband's case. We really appreciate it and can't imagine where we would be without your help. You have been so kind and patient with us throughout this ordeal.
We are forever grateful. Thank you again.
Aaron and Obie,
About a year ago, (our daughter) had a disturbing interaction with the police in which she was falsely accused of DUI and somewhat mistreated by the arresting officers. This experience was very disconcerting, and emotionally traumatizing, and sadly enlightening as to how our justice system really works.
We have just come up on the 1 year anniversary of the court appearance and settlement you achieved for us, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you both for being both for being at once compassionate, frank and professional in minimizing the impact to our lives.
Thanks again for all your efforts and your grace along the way.
Dear Mr. Fontana,
Thank you for helping me achieve the best result I could have hoped for given the circumstances of my case. I could not be more satisfied with the outcome, nor with your services.
I especially appreciate your patience, expertise, and prompt follow-up in addressing my many questions and concerns throughout this process. Needless to say, I felt assured, knowing you were looking out for my best interests.
Should friends or loved ones ever face similar hardships, I will recommend they contact you, with my utmost confidence.
To Whom It May Concern,I would like to express my utmost satisfaction with the legal counsel and related services provided by Aaron Fontana and the Top Gun team as a whole. When I approached your firm, it was the first time I had ever experienced such an event in my life that led me to search for this type of help. I was lost and bewildered by what was going on. So many competing offers to help me crossed my desk. When I chose your firm and Aaron came on to the team to help me, I couldn't have imagined how complex this process could have been, let alone for someone out of state like me. However, your team helped simplify the process from square one. Aaron was always very patient, thorough, and understanding (even after I played "Columbo"... "Just one more question..."). His customer centric manner helped me get through this very tough time and achieved the best possible outcome for the situation at hand. His representation resulted in a good outcome for me. I would recommend your firm based upon my experience.
To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to spotlight one of your employee's for their great service. Karyn Banner has been helping today dealing with an extremely frustrating mistake that was done on my part, she has been nothing but helpful. She was attentive and genuine with a upbeat attitude that in this situation helped more than any actions could. She was very prompt with responses and requests, Karyn helped me handle and hopefully take care of my current issue in just a day. This process would have been much more stressful without her as a part of it. I wanted her great attitude and amazing work ethic to go unnoticed. You truly have a legendary employee, and coming from years in sales and customer service I defiantly appreciate since it's becoming more and more rare.M.S.
Just a quick note to let you know how thankful I am for all your help during this trying period. I truly do not know what I would have done without your guidance and support. You have taken a lot of the sting out of this ordeal for me and my wife. Your consul has been right on the money for everything. I am so appreciative of all you have done for me. Please let me know if there is anything in the future I can do for you to repay you for your efforts on my behalf. Again, please know I will forever refer you and you expertise to anyone I know who finds themselves in this pickle.
Dear Derek and Obie,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your help and guidance on my husband's case. We really appreciate it and can't imagine where we would be without your help. You have been so kind and patient with us throughout this ordeal.
We are forever grateful. Thank you again.
Good evening, Mr. Berman,
I am writing to thank you and your firm for all of the help in the success of my case. I couldn't have asked (or even imagined) for a better outcome. Michael was great in getting everything together for my case to the judge. He was honest and did not lead me to believe that this would be an easy fight. I never expected it to turn out the way it did, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you to Karyn, as well, for her work with processing the paperwork and her excellent communication.
Thank you for everything and I will most definitely highly recommend your firm to anyone who may be in need of your services.
Dear Myles L. Berman
Fortunately my daughter heard your program on the radio that she referred me to you right after I had my DUI. Your rapid response was appreciated to show me how to proceed. Obie Ozobu helped me through the DMV part of my DUI with expertize. Michael S. Phillips is a special professional attorney with knowledge, informative, responded quickly, and personable that he guided me through this process allowing me to feel strong. I would use him as a reference. My DUI case was DISMISSED. I know you work as a team and that is greatly appreciated. If need be for family and friends I would refer them to TOPGUN.
Thank you, this has been an adventure but do not plan to experience it again. By sharing my DUI with friends and family it has had amazing results. Continue on doing an excellent job.
. . . Thanks again for everything. You are all consummate pros and as always it's a pleasure working with you, Aaron, and of course Myles.
To: Mr. Phillips
Thank you soo much for all your help with my DUI. Top-Gun took care of everything for me. You made the legal process easy and less stressful for all involved.
Thank you for being so nice and for your professionalism.
To Mr. Danielson
I just want to express my immense gratitude for your incredible ability and experience in the court room. You had this certain frank and cavalier quality that was both reassuring and representative of your overall skill and ability in law. What I saw happen in that court room could only best be described as genius-- It transformed a few days that would have normally been terrifying for me, into a few days where I felt more reassured than I had in the past several months, and had a first row seat to watch a master at work! I cannot thank you enough for how not only this is has benefited me, but has given me more trust in the legal system at large--that there are options out there when you are between a rock and a hard place, and that option should definitely be to always have Derek by your side! Thanks again!
Good Morning Evelyn!
. . . let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for your help & support during this difficult time. Mr. Danielson was outstanding! I appreciate every minute he spent with me and all of his efforts on my behalf. This was my first (and hopefully last) experience with police & DUI--the advice and guidance that your firm provided resulted in the best possible outcome and I am forever grateful. A friend recommended me to you and I will certainly refer you to any/all of my friends who find themselves in a similar situation. Thanks again!
To Mr. Duffy,
I wanted to thank you again for your work in helping me with my DUI. I know it is probably an everyday occurrence in your profession but in my life it was a catastrophe. I made an error in judgement and did something stupid and it cost me both financially and mentally.
It will take me quite awhile to recover but thanks to you I can recover on my own terms and at home. I shall forward you as legal representation to any of my friends who find themselves in a similar situation. I hope you and yours have a most enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.
To Myles L. Berman,
Mr. Derek Danielson represented me in my DUI case which resulted in a Not Guilty verdict. He was up front and accurate as to how the trial would proceed and the possible outcomes. During the trial Mr. Danielson was always prepared and never missed a chance to make a point favorable to my case. He out classed the prosecutor and was prepared for everything the prosecutor presented and all motions made. I would recommend Mr. Danielson for anyone who chooses to fight their DUI arrest.
Dear Mr. Duffy,
I want to take this time to thank you for all your efforts and success in obtaining a dismissal in my case. The result was highly unexpected but most welcomed. I will be most happy to recommend and refer anyone in need of legal services to you and your office. Thank you so much again.
Dear Mr. Danielson,
I would like to express my sincere thanks to you in your efforts to defend my son. This victory gives a good young man his life back (with a lesson well learned that he will never forget) and great new opportunities to pursue both the completion of his degree and his new career with the new business I have just bought for him.
In the many years I've been in business I have dealt with many law firms and attorneys, but I have never witnessed the skill and ability you displayed during the course of the trial - as noted by the judge himself.
I have and will continue to refer you at every opportunity.
Dear Ms. Ozobu,
I wish to take this opportunity to say thank you for the efficient and timely manner in which you handled my DMV matter.
With your expert assistance my driving privileges have been uninterrupted and I have been able to continue to drive to work without any restrictions. This definitely has assisted with my income situation.
Again I deeply appreciate the professional manner in which you have assisted me. I would highly recommend you and your offices to anyone who may be in need of your services. . .
I would like to thank you and the people in your office that worked on my case. Everyone was professional and did an outstanding job in defending me against the charges that were brought against me after being arrested last year.
First, let me thank Mr. Derek Danielson who is an outstanding defense lawyer and I was glad he was on my side. He is very knowledgeable of past court cases and medical studies that had to do with DUI topics. He was up against having to deal not only with my arrest and breath readings but also my blood test results as well. . .
I would also like to thank Mr. Michael Grahn who worked with me in the first rounds with the District Attorney's office and with the prosecution attorney. He was extremely helpful and very professional with me as well.
Another person I would like to thank is Ms. Obie Ozobu for working with me and the DMV during the hearing. . . I thank her for her advice she provided me after my criminal case was dismissed. . .
I will be recommending your services to others. I am extremely lucky and proud of the work that you and your team have done for me. . .
Thank you all again for the outstanding job.
Hi (Obie Ozobu),
I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate what you do for your clients. This letter has no motives other than to say, thank you for answering my email and my phone calls. I know this may be a bit informal, but I am sincerely grateful for your help. I'm sure you must get many emails and calls from distressed individuals like me and I'm surprised at how patient you are. You maintain extreme professionalism even with all the trials and your hectic schedule during the week. Sometimes, I feel like a grown kid crying to his mother. But in all honesty, you do something positive for people in need of assistance. You don't know how much that means to me and everyone you help. That's why you deserve to hear it. Its good to have someone whom I can trust and always does their best job.
Keep up the good work and have a fulfilling day.
Thank you so very much for your efforts on Kenny's behalf. This result is extremely gratifying and is a big weight off of Kenny's shoulders as he embarks on his college career.
I guess there's still an open issue out there, but I know we're in "let sleeping dogs lie" mode. I take comfort in knowing that whatever comes of it, your firm will fight hard for us.
The following 2 letters are from the same grateful client:
I feel so lucky to have chosen Obie to represent me! Not only was she professional, informative and knowledgeable from the first phone call, she got my suspension set aside entirely. Not once during the entire process did I ever worry that I was not in good hands. Obie kept me calm during a very stressful time - largely because she was honest with me and kept me updated consistently. She is a competent and compassionate lawyer - exactly the type of person you want in your corner.
Dear Michael (Grahn),
You are a true champion. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for me. From your professionalism to your kindness & compassion to your obvious legal skill - you are extraordinary.
I look forward to meeting you and thanking you in person very soon. I am a changed, grateful person because of you.
Dear Mr. Berman,
It is with great pleasure, that I write this letter to you and your firm. There are many words to say but I don't want to ramble on. I'd just like to thank you and your firm and, in particular, Mr. Derek Danielson for the outstanding job of defending my case.
Mr. Danielson is so knowledgeable of the law, the court system and the procedures associated with them, that he was able to demonstrate them without reading notes or relying on props, etc. His presentation was professional in every way. I have not been in this type of situation before and hope not to ever be again. If, by some strange leap of fate, it should happen again, I would want someone like Mr. Danielson on my defense team.
Again, thank all who were involved with my case and I am so pleased to have been represented by you. It was a great experience and to come out with a "Not Guilty" verdict was icing on the cake.
I would recommend your firm to my friends and family should they need those services.
I wanted to thank you and everyone at the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman in helping me, in what was a very embarrassing and regretful incident. . . certainly not a way I wanted to start the New Year. You all were terrific! . . .
Once again thank you for everything.
Dear Mr. Berman,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for your fine efforts in regards to proceedings in which you represented me . . . As for my excellent dealings with Michael Phillips I will say I am extremely pleased with his services. . . Unfortunately this was not the first time I have needed legal representation, in comparison I was impressed with the ease and professionalism of your services. . . You and your staff made an extremely stressful situation into something manageable for me and I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone.
Yours very truly,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your firm for all that you did for me. Under the stress of everything I was going through, you and Cheryl handled my case with more than just professionalism. And for that I am very grateful.
I'm sure that I will not be needing your services again, however I'll be more than happy to recommend you and your firm to anyone that might be in the unfortunate situation I found myself in. . .
Dear Mr. Berman,
I want to thank you for the exceptional job you did to get my daughter, (J's), DUI dismissed. You certainly live up to your name!! . . (S &J) both said you did a great job. Thanks again.
Thank you for taking the time to personally represent me. Your team and resources proved invaluable in my defense. . . I'm pleased to say that your team's guidance and patience were the cornerstone of my path to resolution. Again, thank you and your team.
Hi, (to Myles L. Berman)
While I sent you a note a while back thanking you for all your advice and assistance in my daughter's DUI case, I wanted to express my gratitude once again. Myles was exceptional in his defense of my daughter. The first trial resulted in a mistrial and had the officers testifying in the case in awe as they referred to pages from Myles' book as they testified. My daughter couldn't speak highly enough about the way in which you handled the case in the courtroom. You were able to take a fairly high BAC and turn it into a dry reckless with probation with the possibility of early termination and a vacation of conviction upon completion of all probationary items. While I don't condone drinking and driving, I understand mistakes can be made. My daughter made a big mistake and hopefully she has learned from her mistake. However, you never belittled her and you were patient with her when she asked questions and you willingly spoke with me when I asked questions for clarification. You did it with poise, confidence, friendliness and concern. You fought for the best possible outcome all the way. At one point, word had apparently gotten out about your defense in the trial and people actually came to watch.
My family and I appreciate all the hard work you and your team did to resolve this case.
Thank you once again.
D.B. and S.R.
. . . I am very grateful to you and your firm for your services. You made a difficult situation much easier for me. I am pleased with the conclusion of my case this far. Thank you all very much
Dear Mr. Berman,
I am pleased to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for a job well done. . .
Within days of [my son's] arrest we went to your Orange County office where we met with Mr. Orlando R. Flores. Mr. Flores was very empathetic and gave us good counsel, and took initial information and passed it on to your Los Angeles Office. In less than twenty-four hours contact was made with two more of your outstanding attorneys, Mr. Michael D. Grahn and Ms. Obie Ozobu. After talking with them, I felt the pressure fall off my shoulders. They said they would work very hard for my son, and I believed them. They kept me informed about what was happening with the case, and also returned my telephone calls. We were very excited when Mr. Grahn called to say the misdemeanor charge was dismissed. A few weeks later Ms. Ozobu wrote to say the DMV had decided not to take any action against my son's drivers' license and that no hearing was necessary. "Therefore, my son's driving privileges have been fullly reinstated and that he may continue to drive without any restriction."
Thank your Professionals for me. Your entire staff are truly "TOP GUNS".
Hi Mr. Danielson,
This is Won. Although the trial has not yet ended, I wanted to say thank you for defending my DUI case . . .
I was very impressed with your every court skills, cross-examination, and arguments you brought into the courtroom. Even if we lose, I will admit that you are the best DUI attorney in L.A. Two Korean interpreters both were amazed and asked me how I found you. . .
I want to express my sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the comfort you provided during one of the most frightening events I have ever been through. Your guidance through this process took the burder off my shoulders of dealing with a process I have no knowledge of. Again, thank you and god bless!
My deepest gratitude and appreciation to your staff for the outcome of my DUI case. It was good to have the TOPGUN of DUI defense attorneys represent me!
I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for the hard work you put into the DUI case for my daughter, L. Upon initially researching your firm, I found this office to be in the number one place for DUI attorneys on all of the internet searches in Los Angeles county and that speaks for itself. . .
L.M.D. and L.R.D.
To Obie Ozobu!
I wish to express my thanks to you for your help on the DMV portion of my DUI case. On every occasion on which we spoke or sent correspondence, you were always tuned in and switched on to what was happening in my case and what needed to be done. Not only did you do your job effectively, accurately and completely, but you radiated a warmth, sense of humor and a caring above and beyond the field of duty. . .
I know that you are very busy. . . I just heard from Ann regarding your resolution of the DMV case. There are no words that can express the thanks for your efforts and success from my family and I in lifting this burden from us.
Thank you again,
I would [like] to sincerely thank you for your help on my case and your firm's representation of me. This was certainly a trying time for me, but all of the time you spent answering my questions and guiding me through the whole process helped me tremendously. I am very appreciative of the help, time and effort you and all of the attorneys at the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman provided me. I couldn't have imagined going through this process by myself and having the advice and representation of your firm was invaluable. . .
I sincerely appreciate all the effort on my case and would just like to thank you again for all your help. . .
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to express my most sincere thanks for the truly professional and exceptional job your entire office did in my most recent case. I am completely satisfied and will most certainly recommend your office to anyone who is in need of your services! This goes both for the handling of my court case as well as with the DMV. Again, I thank you very much!
With Kindest Regard,
Ms. Obie Ozobu, (Attorney at Law)
Thank you for all of your help & kindness. You are very, very professional. Keep up the great work.
God Bless always.
. . . I was arrested and charged with a DUI. I contacted the law offices of Myles L. Berman he was my first phone call. His excellent staff immediately guided me through the process and made it as painless as possible. His law office was excellent in the communications of my case they kept me well informed.
. . . All in all when Myles L. Berman appeared in court with me his presence was overwhelming, all eyes were on his every move including mine. If he was not my attorney I'd be shaking in my boots. I knew I was in great hands.
Myles successfully had my alleged DUI reduced to a "dry reckless" and a $150 fine. This was a major improvement in my case as I was facing the wrath of the court system.
So I thank you so much, Myles, Obie, Derek, and Jeff for your expert professional help in my case, my family, friends, and colleagues, are relieved and very gratefully.
Very best regards,
Dear Mr. Berman
I wanted to let you know, that I was very satisfied with the team. . . My friends all said that my "goose was cooked" after a breathalyzer test of a .11 and a BAC of .11. I spoke with about 5 friends who had roughly the same BAC and the outcome was the same for all of them. They were all charged with "DUI" and they all said a "lawyer was a waste of money". Needless to say, I was extremely nervous because with a DUI conviction, I would lose everything. . . I left your office with a belief that it was worth fighting my case. . . the prosecution offered me a "dry reckless". This wouldn't have happened if I would have not hired the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman "Top Gun DUI Defense".
This is coming to you later than it should and for that I am sorry. My wife and I want to express our thanks to you and your team for bringing to a successful conclusion our daughter, Lindsey's, DUI.
While we never expected to be in a situation like this, the outcome was as good as could be expected. Thank you for your efforts in our behalf.
As I will shortly be leaving Los Angeles, I wanted to express my appreciation to you for the excellent work your Company, Top Gun, did in relation to my son's recent court case. The outcome of the case was an outstanding success.
Your staff demonstrated the highest standard of professionalism. Their judgment was consistently first class as was their dedication and energy. They were sympathetic and showed compassion to my son when it was required.
I was most impressed with the skill, patience and good humor they demonstrated in handling the court officials. They displayed outstanding interpersonal skills and won the respect of my family and others.
In my dealings with you, you have provided good advice to me based on an excellent understanding of the law. The result was a good decision for my son.
I wish you well in your future personal and professional life. If you are ever in Australia, don't forget to look us up!
With my thanks.
Dear Obie Ozobu:
Thank You! I am truly thankful to you and everyone at the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman for having my DMV hearing to be Set Aside. This is so important to me because my boss said I would lose my job if my license was suspended! Again my family and I Thank You!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for the superb representation and moral support I received during my case. Words alone do not express my gratitude to the expert handling of my DUI case by Derek Danielson.
People were telling me that I was wasting my time and money fighting my DUI arrest. They never met Derek or the rest of your staff.
Watching Derek in the courtroom was perfection in motion. His dissecting cross-examination, manipulation of the courtroom, along with his personable appeal to the judge and lawyers present in the courtroom, aided in receiving pertinent information that was crucial to my final verdicts of Not Guilty on all counts.
Derek's knowledge of the applicable law and differences in testing manner in conjunction with the understanding of human err, was evident in the outcome of my NOT GUILTY verdicts. He was always encouraging and supportive throughout the duration of the case. The professional manner in which every detail was handled certainly justified the legal fees.
Again I would like to express my gratitude to you, Derek and your entire staff for putting this incident behind me with the not guilty verdicts, clearing my record with DMV, and reinstating my good driver status with my insurance company. I am forever grateful and without hesitation would recommend your services to anyone.
A very deep thanks goes out to you and your staff. When I sat down with you to discuss my case, you gave me that feeling that you were "the man."I felt that something good was going to come out of my case. With all the evidence looking negative against me, and my job being on the line, Mr. Danielson represented me at my DMV Hearing and got it "Set Aside," and I got my license back. Thank you sincerely for the spectacular job you did.
My wife and I would like to express our gratitude in your excellent handling of my case. This past six months has been a trying experience on me. I never thought I would be treated as a criminal by the police, the DMV, and the courts. To say it was nerve wracking and life altering would be to understate my feeling. However, once I heard you work your magic in court, I started to feel much better. In fact when my wife heard your closing arguments she told me, "You can't lose." My son asked, "How could you win. It sounds like you were guilty." I responded, "I wasn't guilty and I had a great attorney".
Again, thanks for your expertise and your great command of the DUI laws, as well as, your ability to talk to a jury in a way that is personal, and relays the law in a completely understandable manner.
Dear Mr. Danielson,
June 5, 2006 was a glorious day! 3 days into trial and hearing the "not-guilty" verdict on all charges was an extraordinary achievement considering my case was built upon circumstantial evidence.
It's incredible how you've managed to successfully navigate the facts to a winning vitory although a 0.14 BAC was measured from a blood sample and a 2nd DUI offense was charged. You're control of the prosecutors prosecution was awesome. You've proven when justice is served by leveraging your court skills, knowledge, psychology, and solid experience that hope exists for even the hopeless DUI cases.
My son and I wanted to thank you again for your assistance with his APS hearing.
We truly appreciate your professionalism, but most of all, your understandingand caring nature during this most upsetting situation.
From the bottom of our hearts, thanks again!
J. & K. W.
It's been a while since I've been able to submit this appreciation letter to you and here it is...Saying "thank you" doesn't express my appreciation or gratitude for the understanding and encouragement you have given me. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your associates/staff for doing an excellent job on dismissing my case back in August 2006. Derek's expertise, his hard work and confidence dismissed ALL the charges that were against me. Without a doubt I am writing this recommendation for Derek A. Danielson, it might have cost me an arm and leg; but for ALL its worth thank you sincerely for doing a tremendous job on my case.
Dear Mr. Danielson,
My family and I would like to place on record our deepest gratitude to and high regards for Counsel Derek A. Danielson with the law offices of Myles L. Berman. Your valuable expertise, knowledge and aggressive court approach provided me with a very positive outcome in my DUI case. All alcoholic related charges and refusal were dismissed.
I commend Mr. Derek A. Danielson for having pure professionalism, excellence, and competency. You have demonstrated and continue to set higher standard for other DUI Attorneys to emulate. In my opinion, in the State of California, you are "BAR NONE."
While young my father once shared the following piece of priceless advice with me. He said, "If you want a shot at a successful life, make sure you find a great doctor, accountant and lawyer." Little did I know back then the wisdom in his words. The predicament I found myself in earlier this year was quite daunting. On February 2, 2005 I was pulled over for a suspected DUI. With a BAC of .16%, I was facing the possibility of losing my license, my job and the prospect of serving time in jail. To complicate matters, I was on probation for a previous 'Wet and Reckless' which significantly compounded my dilemma. The jail time that I would face would certainly be significant, all but guaranteeing the loss of my employment, my house, and the life that I had built. That's where you stepped in and took over, Derek. Out of the gates I knew I was in good hands with your knowledge of the law, your confidence and your experience. But these attributes, while required in a good attorney, aren't what differentiated you in my mind. It was the combination of your courtroom command, the respect that you had of your peers (both the prosecution and the judge) and your overall mastery of psychology that ultimately won the day for our team. What I witnessed was flawless execution of your courtroom strategy with artful skill (things that just can't be taught at any law school or textbook). You even took all of my calls throughout the process always making the time to get me to relax. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. My father was right Derek, a great attorney makes all the difference in the world. My suspected DUI was reduced to a 'Wet and Reckless' even though my BAC was .08% over the legal limit. Nicely done - no jail time, no loss of job and no suspension of my driving privileges.
Thanks for looking out for me...!
Very truly yours,
I just wanted to say congratulations on the case & Thank you! It's people like you that make your law office #1.
To whom it may concern:
I am writing this letter to provide a recommendation for Derek A. Danielson. Mr. Danielson represented me in a very difficult DUI case. The case was difficult because my breath readings were extremely high (.16 and .17). Also the arrest and case was in a very small vacation town with an us versus them attitude that is very tough on outsiders. The trial lasted four days and involved some very complicated and technical issues. Through his tremendous effort and extreme talent I was acquitted of the charges.
I cannot begin to provide the detail or communicate my observations. However, I will say that I am a top executive in a NYSE one billion dollar fortune one thousand corporation. I am responsible for over four million square feet of commercial real estate on a national basis. I deal with high level professional people on a regular basis. To this end I can recognize people that excel in their fields and appreciate and enjoy watching them ply their skills. Derek Danielson is without a doubt an excellent trial lawyer. It is apparent to the client, the judge, the prosecution and most important to the jury. I recommend Mr. Danielson to anybody looking for the best representation they can obtain. I personally hold him in the highest regard, and told him so PRIOR to the outcome of my trial.
I just wanted to write and thank you for defending me in my case. I would be writing this letter whether I had won or lost, because you and your firm did a remarkable job (fortunately I won). I was treated with nothing but respect, and I always felt that I was a priority. You and your team are truly amazing and I appreciate all that you have done for me and letting me return to my life and my son. Again thank you for everything, all your hard work is acknowledged and appreciated.
Dear Mr. Danielson:
I would like thank you for representing me in the Downey Municipal Court regarding my recent DUI case. The past few months have been stressful for me. I never thought in my life I would have to appear in front of a judge regarding a criminal matter. However, we are all vulnerable to lapses in judgment. This time it happened to me. I am sure it will never happen again. I was very impress(ed) (sic) with the way you moved through the court. People there have a great deal of respect for you. You were able to resolve my case in a timely manner and without much hassle for me. Once again thank you. I wish you great success in both your professional and personal life.
Dear Mr. Danielson:
Just a note to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the excellent work you did on my case. You were able to get my DUI count and the Refusal Enhancement dismissed and struck respectively. I am forever grateful to you for getting both counts reduced to a "dry reckless" charge. Your vast knowledge, professional experience, confidence, skill, and patience was so comforting to me during this difficult time. Your staff was a pleasure to deal with; they always demonstrated the highest standard of courtesy and professionalism. Again, I would like to thank you and your staff for putting this incident behind me. You are definitely the "best" in this field of law. I would certainly recommend your services to anyone who finds themselves in a similar predicament.
This letter is my formal way of thanking you and also shows my appreciation for your exceptional, professional, and brilliant repudiation of the charges levied against me. I saw the prosecutor's face turn(ed) (sic) literally red, irked by your outstanding knowledge of the law. He was actually making the case unethically personal. Not only did I learn a lot from this case, I would also like to think that I have met someone I can depend on and recommend to others without any reservations.
Dear Mr. Danielson and Prospective Client,
Two Alco Sensor IV (PAS) readings in the field at 0.13% BAC. Two Datamaster readings at the police station at 0.12% BAC. Calibration records of both devices indicating accurate operation near my date of arrest. Two expert witnesses plus the police sergeant in charge of the PAS device calibration testifying to same. A judge that was a former prosecutor on the bench. Judgment of acquittal on the .08 Per Se Count [23152(b)] on Day 5 of a jury trial? IMPOSSIBLE! Not so. Not when your case is in the hands of a sharp, aggressive, experienced trial lawyer like Mr. Danielson. For those of you who are not yet familiar with DUI law, this acquittal also meant that I automatically obtained a DMV "set aside" - a double victory, in other words. Mr. Danielson was also able to destroy the credibility of the arresting officer and his police report during his incisive cross-examination. Thus, he was able to get the 23152(a) "DUI" count dismissed as well. After four days of trial, Mr. Danielson had destroyed the Prosecution's case to such a degree that we did not even have to present a case. All this despite the fact that the People had retained a team of attorneys from a nationally-prominent law firm to prosecute the case for them. All they could get was a "no contest" plea to an exhibition of speed [23109(c)] violation - essentially a glorified speeding ticket, not priorable, not alcohol-related.
Yes, things did look bad for me initially. Everyone told me that they had me "dead to rights" and that I should plead guilty. Thank goodness I was too hardheaded to listen and thank goodness I found a law firm that was just as much of a fighter as I am. Although it is not my intention here to sell against other fine law firms, I must say that I interviewed four other firms (within ten days of my arrest, mind you) and there are those who will just take your money and plead you out to a "wet reckless" which is just a kinder, gentler DUI that many people can get in pro per without paying a dime. Your mailbox is probably full of letters from such firms right now as you read this. Don't take the bait. Think about your quality of life for the next seven years.
Thank you, Mr. Danielson, for relieving this burden from my shoulders and restoring normalcy to my life. This whole ordeal was like a bad dream that lasted over four months and it had weighed heavily upon me. While I was sitting in that defendant's chair for a week with a gallery of jurors staring at me, I kept thinking, "How did I, a well-heeled professional, get here?" Your cross-examinations and the issues you raised during hearings, however, kept hope alive that victory was imminent. Your courtroom "presence" from pre-trial motions to voir dire to the actual trial was impressive not only to me but also to the jury and even opposing counsel. Some jurors even took your card after the trial. Some congratulated me on the victory and commented to me and to opposing counsel on how great my lawyer was - the way you owned the courtroom, the way you broke the opposing counsel's rhythm and knocked her off her "script" on numerous occasions. Perhaps the greatest satisfaction I have now is in sharing my experience with others and educating them about DUI defense, all the while plugging you and your firm. Thank you again for ending this nightmare. I can now go forward with the many plans that I had put on hold because of the possibility of having my license suspended or the ramifications of a possible DUI conviction.
Mr. Derek Danielson,
I would like to thank you and Myles for saving my son-in-law’s life. I mean this sincerely as the court system is a horrible place to be. If it were not for your office Andy would be in jail. It was a blessing when we found you. I have a new respect for people caught in the court system. I used to believe you really had to prove guilt not innocence but this experience has shown me our court system sucks. This has set the kids wedding back a year, but a least there will be one now thanks to you and your staff. . . Thank you again, your office staff are excellent as well, they really made us feel like normal people.
Thank you from my heart,
Dear Mr. Danielson.
Thank you so much for the recent resolution of my DUI case. It was 2:00 AM on January 2nd when I was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol for speeding. It had been a few hours earlier when I had a couple of beers but I thought I was able to drive OK. Well after being pulled over I was given some tests including a breathalyzer which indicated a .08 BAC level. I was above the legal limit. I was scared because a drunk driving conviction could have been devastating to my life.
You were somehow able to get the DUI charge dropped and I pled guilty to a charge of "Exhibition of Speed." This was a great resolution as far as I was concerned. Now I can get on with my life.
Thank you very much.
Dear Mr. Danielson,
My hasty departure and my brief thank you after the verdict was read does not reflect the immense gratitude I feel toward you for the impeccable job you did on this case. Before the verdict was read I said you had done a great job and could not have argued the case any better, and I meant it. Of course you could never truly know this, but I would be grateful and pleased no matter what the verdict.
This is especially an important victory in my life due to recent events. I am pleased to announce my fiancée and I are expecting a baby, and it will be our first. The wedding has been moved up to this August due to our victory in court. Derek, both of us can't thank you enough. You would not believe how happy Lynn was when she heard the news about the case, and she wanted me to thank you in this letter. It would have been difficult with our lives just starting together to have to work around the repercussions of a DUI. You have made a great difference in the way our lives together are beginning, and I hope you feel good about that.
I wish to offer you my compliments and gratitude for getting my DUI arrest reduced to a "Dry Reckless" charge. Your professional experience, skill and patience have been most appreciated during the past several anxiety-filled and confusing months.
I've also enjoyed getting to know you, and will happily recommend you to others should I have the opportunity. Thank you again.
Thank you for the deep sense of compassion you demonstrated during my trial. I am convinced the jury as well as the Judge were as impressed with your handling of my case as I was.
The respect the Judge gave you in his on-and-off the record comments were most impressive. I would have totally enjoyed watching you in action, and the manner in which you lead the prosecution, if it were not for the fact that I was the defendant.
Your ability and your willingness to answer my questions and to explain everything were a constant source of assurance. Working with a weak case to start with and ending up have the prosecution withdraw the charges would never have happened without your professional expertise.
To Whom It May Concern:
It is acknowledged that DUI cases are hard to win in Ventura County. One needs representation with experience and skills. Mr. Danielson is the lawyer with tremendous experience and impressive skills to deal with these tough cases. It became apparent during the trial that he possesses an analytical mind of a high caliber. The prosecution, although well prepared and meticulous, was no match. I was acquitted of the alleged violations.
I appreciate very much the hard work of Mr. Danielson to win this case. I will definitely recommend him as the ultimate choice for these kind of cases.
