Derek A. Danielson

Derek A. Danielson is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, School of Law. Mr. Danielson is “Of Counsel” to the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman where he concentrates in the defense of driving under the influence cases. Since joining the Law Offices of Top Gun DUI Defense Attorney® Myles L. Berman, Mr. Danielson has successfully tried drunk driving cases in Courts throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties. A senior prosecutor has described Mr. Danielson as “one of the two best DUI attorneys in the State” and recently after completion of another trial, a Superior Court judge commented that Mr. Danielson “is one of the finest counsel to have appeared before me.”

Prior to his association with Myles L. Berman in 1997, Mr. Danielson practiced for over 20 years in Toronto, Canada as senior partner in the Law Offices of Danielson and Fox, an internationally recognized firm specializing in the defense of all criminal matters. Mr. Danielson has conducted thousands of criminal trials, both jury and non-jury, involving a range of charges from murder to simple assaults. Mr. Danielson has appeared at all levels of appellate courts in Canada where he successfully argued for the creation of defense discovery rights, exclusion of confessions based on State trickery, dismissals based on pre-charging delay as well as obtaining an acquittal in a quadruple death case before the Supreme Court of Canada. He has tried over 800 drunk driving cases.

David T. Kaye

David T. Kaye is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He obtained his law degree from Western State University and was admitted to the California Bar in 1994. He served as a Deputy District Attorney in Fresno County and then established a private practice limited to criminal defense with an emphasis on DUI cases. He is actively involved in the legal community and has served four years as a Co-Chairman of the criminal section of the San Diego North County Bar Association. Mr. Kaye has represented over 3,000 clients with DUI charges and has tried more than 250 DUI jury trials throughout Southern California. He is “Of Counsel” to the Law Offices of Top Gun DUI Defense Attorney® Myles L. Berman.

Obie Ozobu

Obie Ozobu graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996. She obtained her law degree from Western State University and was admitted to the California Bar in 2001. While in law school, Ms. Ozobu was recognized by Who’s Who of American Law School Students. Throughout her legal education and career, Ms. Ozobu has focused her practice on criminal defense. As a law student and graduate she clerked for the Los Angeles County and Orange County Public Defenders’ Offices focusing on appellate rights for wrongly convicted individuals. From 2002 until 2005, Ms. Ozobu worked as a Los Angeles County Deputy Public Defender where she defended hundreds of individuals charged with Driving Under the Influence. She has been very successful with and is primarily responsible for conducting DMV hearings.

Michael D. Grahn

Michael D. Grahn graduated magna cum laude from California State University at Long Beach in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was named the outstanding graduating senior in the department of political science that year. Mr. Grahn earned his juris doctor degree from the University of California Hastings College of Law, and was admitted to practice law in California in 2003. During law school and as an attorney Mr. Grahn has been dedicated to criminal defense and the protection of individual rights. He has worked for the Federal Public Defender in Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union. As a law student Mr. Grahn also held a prestigious research position with a senior judge on the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to joining the Law Offices of Myles L. Berman, Mr. Grahn has worked almost exclusively in criminal defense and has handled cases in courts all over Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. Mr. Grahn owned his own law office for three years and has represented clients charged with all levels of felonies and misdemeanors, including numerous DUI cases throughout Southern California.

Michael S. Phillips

Michael S. Phillips graduated with honors from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. He graduated from Whittier Law School, with a concentration in Criminal Law in 2008. Mr. Phillips was also admitted to the State Bar of California in 2008. While in law school, he worked as a Certified Law Clerk for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office at West Justice Center in Westminster, California. While a Certified Law Clerk, Mr. Phillips helped prosecute criminal cases, including misdemeanor and felony DUI cases. Since becoming a lawyer, he has been in private practice representing hundreds of clients in DUI as well as traffic related matters in State courts throughout Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties. Mr. Phillips is the managing attorney of our Orange County office.
